Basically, Communication is vital since man’s dawn and we human beings are social animal also. Communication is our basic need either through words, pictures, symbols and electromagnetic waves.
Telecommunication is communication through electromagnetic waves; is an industry which means communication by mean of cell phone, internet or radio... it is among the fastest growing industry in Pakistan.
Mobile Phone (cellular device) which is not new to us as it is now becoming the central part of our daily routine not only because, it helps us to connect with other people but also with the unbelievable features which are introducing daily its getting more and more importance.

When we take glances of the last decade, once a classy product, the mobile phone, is now practically with-in the reach of every person of the society, and are believed to be a basic communication vital tool.
In 1991, GSM (Global system for mobiles) was introduced in Europe and within four years the Egyptian company, Orascom Telecom in 1994 first time invested in Pakistan’s telecom market with the name of Mobilink.  Ufone was second company, which was established with govt. assistance.

According to current figures:
Mobilink has 3 crores and 30 lakhs susccriber; Telenor has 2 crores and 90 lakhs subscribers, Ufone with 2 crores and 40 lakhs subscribers, Zong has 1 crores and 70 lakhs and Warid stick up with 1 crores and 50 lakhs customers.
With the increase in cell phone users the abusive use of technology has been observed. People use their phones for purposes like flirting, fraud and in terrorism activities as well. 98% of the users are using prepaid sim in Pakistan and only 2% using postpaid sim and according to companies (ARPU) average revenue per user was 15 rupees. Rumor was heard that govt. soon going to convert all prepaid sims to postpaid which may raise the prices of calls and messages.

Mobile number portability known as MNP (Malaysia Nigeria Pakistan) is the service which allows you to retain your old number when changing from old network, this service in South East Asia was first introduced in Pakistan. Warid is the network which suffering from loss due to this service, and Zong through this service gets high advantages.

Everyday new development and improvement in mobile phone models and technologies is now becoming necessary and fashion as well. Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) is the leading company in the telecommunication sector. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority is the government agency which uses to monitor the functions of telecommunication industry. Mobile manufacturer companies are introducing new devices, models and mobile software, hardware with every fresh day.
Mobile phones use to perform tasks like text messaging, email, MMs, Internet access, short-range wireless communications (infrared, Bluetooth), business applications sometimes offer us company with gaming and photography.

Strong competition between mobile service providers also led to cheaper call rates, both locally and internationally. Networks like Warid, Ufone, Telenor and Zong are famous networks here. Samsung, LG, Apple, and Rim: Blackberry, Motorola Inc. and Sony Ericson are the well-known mobile phone manufacturer company in the world.
Different network companies establishing their cell phone towers in populace areas which is dangerous because mobile phone practices electromagnetic radiations, which may cause several serious diseases, which include diseases such as cancer, brain tumors, leukemia, birth defects, miscarriages, stress and other skin diseases.
However, every technology has its own limitations, exploitation or addiction of anything is dangerous not only for yourself but for others as well. Everything comes with advantages and disadvantages now it’s up-to us that how we are going to deal.

Though, we can’t neglect the fact that telecom is the only industry which pays 19.5% GST, which is highest and the future of this industry is bright with introduction of 3G (third Generation) technology which is expected to be in Pakistan this year.

Sick Pakistan Railway System

                                 Sick Pakistan Railway System

by: Rubab Bhatti
Railway is a relatively inexpensive and handy mode of traveling for the middle and lower classes in Pakistan .It is the most easily accessible transportation for the general public throughout Pakistan .It used to carry huge freight in Pakistan , but due to neglect and lack of any planning for its improvement this vital medium of traveling has been deteriorating. This cheap and safe mode for passengers is now facing number of issues. A number of services of Pakistan Railway have been cancelled, suspended and many more will be suspended in near future because of mismanagement and shortage of locomotives, fuel and money.
A stage has arrived now when the engines are failing, the bogies are breaking down. The diesel is not enough, the trains derail, accidents take place and the delays are frequent.
The political interference, nepotism, corruption, poor maintenance of track and bridges and mismanagement plus those who responsible to run Pakistan Railway misuse the funds which allocated for development of Pakistan Railway these are the major causes of
Failure of Pakistan Railways.

Mr. zubair, a young man doing job in private college he said, “That Government should also take some action against lost of innocent passenger life because most of the passengers died who traveled by Awam Express, which has 16 hours late, no water in its tanks and interesting is fan switch off at least government should provide basic facilities to the passengers .Passengers are suffering due to mismanagement of administration”.

Pakistan Railways should create competitive atmosphere to provide the customers with more facilities as we see in various countries the modern railway system which is operated with the latest technology and their whole system is automatic and computerized and providing facilities to their own country people.

In the same way the trains to be run under the new system in Pakistan there should be no classification of carriages into 1st, 2nd or 3rd class, there should be cleanliness in trains and on the platforms these should be equipped with flush and underground sewerage systems. The coolie system should be discarded as it is a disgrace to the humanity. The trolleys system that one sees at various railways stations else where is the best for anyone to move luggage to the train by paying a small amount.

But when this all would happen because Pakistan Railways is sinking in the sea of corruption as no serious efforts are being made to eradicate it from this department.
The government should eradicate corruption in railway sector. Corruption is the menace that is destroying many sectors of Pakistani society.

The best solution of this problem is the privatization of Pakistan Railway. We can take the example of PTCL; before privatization PTCL monthly losses were in billions. Today it is not only a profitable organization but also providing excellent services to the customers. So, it should be privatized because Corruption in Pakistan Railways can only be removed by privatization of Pakistan Railways.

Too many writers and no few readers

It is sad for any publication when it receives less subscription request and more email by people saying they want to write. These days we observe that writers are increasing day by day due to freedom of expression at the same time readers are decreasing due to technological development.

Writing is the best way to express views, opinion and to make someone else think about a problem or a mystery. Writers put in their books not only their own ideas and feelings, but also what they observe and find in society.

As far as reading is concern the more that you read the more things you will know but apparently we could see that the young people are not reading and one of the major cause of lack of reading habit is due to technological development, new technologies have huge impact on our world in a much shorter time, today in our society technology is slowly taking a control over individual lives.

Student spend more hour on electronic media such as browsing net, connecting with different social networking like Facebook, twitter whereas they get less information and more entertainment and playing with funky handset passing non-stop SMS seems to be the routine of the day therefore written material in a quite or peaceful corner of the library. previously teachers used to recommend different books of different publication for digging material but now they also recommend different websites to find related stuff, however visiting different official website is not enough whereas going through the publication gives you added advantage so you have to have at least few issues in your hand to know what it is about and what kind of material it is publish.

Electronic media is another reason to replace the reading habit of individuals because it twisted to be an attractive way of representing information.

It is very sad to say that student rarely get interest in reading for pleasure they read books only to pass exams. Therefore government, teachers and media should jointly take steps to motivate and divert people to read books by introducing different programs and contests which may attract people towards reading.

Student & politics

Student & politics

by Ume Hani

Today the country is waiting for young and honest leaders to rule them. We need a break from the corrupted politicians who make our country famous as a still developing country. We want to see our country as a well developed country. We want young leaders who will not be corrupted and use technology to develop a newer and better country. Let us make our nation educated. Most of the leaders today are too rich enough to understand the common people's problems. And so I believe it is a young and educated leader who can understand and change our corrupt society for a better tomorrow.

Students are the future of the nation. The students are young, energetic & a bundle of spirit. They also young, lively and easily influenced to others. They are aggressive and impressive.

When we talk about student's movement and fighting I would say students should participate in politics but not in a violent way. Some of student's wings present in the news for breaking rules and behaving like rowdies. The habitual anger, lack of patience and use of violent which show the characteristics of leaders of our country.

I strongly believe that student's takes part in election & generally solve the problems and then gradually expanding their work of arena.

Why don't we think about the future?? When we are fighting for something with real passion, if we are literate people, then can't we think for better ways to solve our problems? I think killing oneself for any reason would be the most foolish and coward's thing in the world.

In the words of Scott Sorrell, "You make the world a better place by making yourself a better person," it's mean that by making yourself a better person you are making an intense change in our world of today.
Many have asked there self's...What is my purpose? Why am I here? What was I meant to do? Well, the reason why you are here, the purpose of why you were created is simply to make the world a better place for you and everyone around you.

She represents the Voice of youth, in simple words better to say she is an admirable inspiration for the new generation!

She said that there are so many people out there who will tell you that "You can't". What you've got to do is turn around and say" watch me"...!If today I will get a chance to ask Allah what I desire the most & that he will gonna promise to fulfill right at that moment.. "I will ask him to extend my life a little more." I am sure what everyone would think is that I am not satisfied with my life the one that I have...Or maybe I am one of those who are afraid of the this mystery of death..But the truth is I ''will ask him this is because I know there are people in my life who needs me more or may be my presence 'will help them out in anyway..!

She believed that Life is a great travel trip... But the problem is that it doesn't come with a map so we have to search our own ways to reach the destination...!

Actually words are not good enough to describe her achievement, aims and her wonderful personality; we can just only say that "She is just born to win."

Tamachi: a cobbler at Arts Faulty By: Sindhu Mallah

Edited by Ayaz Ahmed Laghari

Javed Tamachi: a cobbler at Arts Faulty
A common but uncommon
By: Sindhu  Mallah

There are many humble and useful jobs that people have to do for their livelihood, despite liked by them or not. All of them play an important role in society with their efforts. For instance a street sweeper's work is very humble, yet the city would be a dirty place if the sweepers were not there.  So we should not despise him on account of his job but at least do not show a hatred behaviour to them. A cobbler also does a humble job. He makes an honest living by mending shoes. In the course of his work, his hands become dirty and black due to shoe polish, so we should not ignore them as unimportant persons of the society but take appreciate their hard work that they do for earnings.

Here I am writing something about Javed  Tamachi a cobbler at Arts Faulty, University of Sindh. He is 23 years old and lives at Shora Village, Jamshoro. Javed usually earns rupees 200 a day. He comes at 7:30am daily and starts his work on roof with some useful tools and a woody box.   He closes his shoes mending stall at 2: pm. Many students also give him some extra money, for his hard work.

He further told that their family migrated from Bahawalpur to Sindh for the sake of money. Though the income is less but his family is happy with this amount. Javed told that they do not depend on others, they are ten family members and it is really difficult to survive and its share of 200 rupees is fewer shares for supporting the family but still his mother is happy with him with thanking god for monetary he earns and others earn.
Javed further mentioned that one of his elder brothers and father are also cobblers and this is his family profession. Even Sunday is not holiday for him and if University is off he goes to other places and start cobbler's work there because if he earns daily his family lives happily.

Javed said a certain dignity can be found in all kinds of honest labour with hard work. We would not look down upon anyone because someone does a humble job. Each labour has his own dignity and we should respect the dignity of each human being. No man loses his dignity because he happens to do a poorly paid job.

Javed gives his message that all of us must learn to respect the dignity of labour. We should not be ashamed to do any kind of job even the job that let sit you down on the roof but it should be done with honesty. Children must learn to respect every labour. Our country will be prosperous only when we have a right sense of values and no false pride.

Rise and fall of a "hero" By Aisha Jamali

Rise and fall of a "hero"
                                                    By Aisha Jamali

"Agha Waqar is our national hero and he has done that work nobody has ever did" such words and appreciation was commonly showed in news before few days.
Agha Waqar claimed that he can run the car completely on water. He called his invention "water-kit".[ The kit consists of a cylindrical jar, which holds the water, electrodes, wires to be attached with car's battery and a hose leading to the engine. The kit which uses electrolysis process to convert water into HHO gas, then gas is used as fuel in another unmodified gasoline engine. The kit requires distilled water. Ahmed claims that he had been able to achieve much higher amounts of HHO compared to any other inventor because of his "undisclosed calculations".He also applied for a patent from the Government of Pakistan and is waiting for their feedback.

This news was very surprising for the people as before him many foreigners scientist had attempted such trial but failed. Other side masses have a great hope for getting rid from the rising rates of petrol and CNG. This young man belonging from Khairpur Sindh showed his successful tryout in front of all the members of Ministerial committee at Islamabad and after every person from motherland Sindh welcomed him greatly in different cities of Sindh. He got great respect and love and people from Hyderabad also conducted supporting and appreciating rallies for him.

Regarding the successful experiment Agha said that many scientists had been rejected due to no specific theory but my formula and trial is in front of all and I am presenting and even proving myself true before you all…

Many people have opposed his formula by giving different comments on different shows on special Agha Waqar water kit.
Agha claims to have done several demonstrations for Pakistani government
According to a television interview he has had three meetings with Government's Science and Technology sector as well as a meeting with Pakistan's Atomic energy commission. Upon hearing about his invention, the prime minister of Pakistan, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, formed a committee consisting of three people. The committee members were Khursheed Shah, the minister of religious affairs, Mir Changez Khan Jamali, the federal minister for Science and Technology, and Dr. Asim Hussain, the advisor to the Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources.Out of the three members, Khursheed Shah has publicly announced Ahmed's invention as fair.
After publicity and media coverage, many government officials came forward to support Ahmed's invention. Along with the aforementioned federal minister for Religious Affairs, two other federal ministers endorsed his work. Sindh Minister for Law and Prisons, Mohammad Ayaz Soomro, called Ahmed a national hero while speaking to a media group.Three other government officials congratulated him, stating that he "brought a revolution in the world of Science".
Ahmed was criticized for not clearly explaining how his invention work without violating the laws of thermodynamics.Ahmed was invited by Jamil Ahmed Khan, the Pakistani ambassador to UAE, to demonstrate his technology in Abu Dhabi. Samar, as well as Abdul Qadeer Khan, both nuclear Scientists supported the idea of a water-fueled car; however, he also faced many opponents.
Talat Hussain covered Agha's invention on his talk show and did a follow up show on August 3, 2012 to address the skeptics. His guests consisted of a panel of Scientists, a PHD student and a reporter for KTN news. Agha was not present there. The Scientists reiterated the problem of water-kit's incompatibility with the second law of thermodynamics. One of the guests, Javed Ahmed Chatta said that he was present at one of the demonstrations and had shown his skepticism; however, his concerns were ignored by the authorities. Another guest, Adeel Ghayur, said "even ignoring the apparent violation of natural laws, the cost to operate such a car would be impractical".
Atta ur Rahman, a Scientist and a former minister of Science and Technology, called for a technical investigation of Ahmed's car by top engineering universities when he appeared on GeoTV's Capital Talk. He told the host, Hamid Mir, that such inventions don't work and if they were to work, they would violate the law of conservation of energy. Ahmed replied to this criticism by stating that he had already made long drives with the car, done demonstrations for politicians and media personalities. He even challenged Rahman to check and verify his water fuelled car himself. By the end of the show, everyone agreed that the car should be tested by independent sources.Rahman showed similar concerns in another show by Talat Hussain Syed, News Night with Talat, for Dawn News. While speaking to Express tribune, Rahman stated that he suspected that invention can be a scam. He repeated that such an invention would violate the laws of thermodynamics in order to work.
That was the story of the scientist who still in the conflictive opinions of the analyst and other common men. During the whole period, started after announcing the invention, the smell of biasdness was sensed in media groups which increased more frustration among people of Sindh. Except local media no other national's level media highlighted the invention but fashion news stories were more important for them. When it became a conflict then all anchors woke up and talk shows were held by them. If media would not be supportive and promoting until the darkness of backwardness would never be lighten with excellence and people would not be determined regarding creativity or inventions

Let's make some difference

"Pakistan is proud of her youth, particularly the students, who are nation builders of tomorrow" – Quaid-e-Azam.

Just after eid the days were hectic, lots of work and very new tasks.  I enrolled my name in promotional and marketing department of the group.  In Ramzan I received my cousin's message and urge me to take part as team member in the group who are going to organize their first program in Hyderabad based on career counseling, motivational workshop and etc. The group called Aims..! A group of 15 to 16 young people including me are the part of this grand team. I attended many social programs but this one is going to be more special as I am going to explore ways which appears different to me.

We started working on it and September 14th of was the day of our first laurel where we had a crowd of more than 300 students and discover the youth power. 300 not a big figure but for a group of 16 young people like us this records matter.  It may not interest you but my team and I came across during our journey that nothing is difficult just required efforts.

Later, I think over it again and again "Why people admire young age? Why Shakespeare wrote seven ages of man and highlighted Soldier and justice age in his poem?? " .

The main question was can I make some difference in society?  And there must be other young people out there who have courage, skills and talent like Mala Yousuf Zai, Ali Moin Nawazish and Arfaa Karim.

Why not we gather such youth on a single platform so they can act in more effective way and we can come over our economic and other deadly crisis. Platforms like Youth Parliament, School of Leadership and others. Or we must encourage the youth groups in society those who are working and trying to play their age role wisely.
Revivalisms of Youth Organizations are appreciable at this stage when our youth facing challenges like unemployment, less opportunities and lawlessness in the country. But the uses of such organizations are vital at this phase; we must work with progressive approach not for individual but in favor of whole society.

Pakistan is the luckiest among other countries as estimated 103 million Pakistanis, or 63% of the population, fall under the age of 25 years.  More than half of our nation population comprises youth.

Consequently our forefathers bringing glory and pride to our nation and also bringing laurels home to be proud of like Pakistan we only admire them but never laid efforts to mark same glory.

Let's be a part of political movements to show our desires and expectations for our country.
You can break the nepotism and corrupt cultures yes you! Asked Question do investigation and make some difference.

Why great leader always focuses on the youth importance? Is it about the adolescent age?  But the most exciting stage I believe is the time of being young not by age but by actions, enthusiasm and adventurous nature.

We have no time to wait for Messiah to come and do charisma for us don't complain but take actions and do it yourself.
There is light at the end of the tunnel but only if we have the will and courage to pass through.

The government and Youth Ministry must pay special attention in addressing the issues affecting Pakistani Youth at first priority to allow us to meet our potential and perform for the country in a more suitable way.
